Default can i create "dynamic" shortcuts that will choose the newest file within a directory?

howdy,

i was doing my morning data entry, chose the current months file and off i went.

it got me wondering, can i create a shortcut that will point to a file by date/time rather than name?

its not a big deal, more an exercise in "can i?".

I don't think so, but you can have a shortcut to a .vbs script that looks in the directory and does it.

thanks. beyond my knowledge and its not important enough to learn.

every month/week/day we replicate a buttload of files for the next period and just wondered if i could set direct shortcuts to the latest file in the directory. no biggie.
