I don't think you understand, so I'll explain better.
I'm building a carPC. To get FM radio, I'm going to use the existing radio, and just get the speaker l+R wire, and put it line in on the motherboard. So I'm asking if I can get live ended wire, and solder it to a 3.5mm jack. |

the speaker out's from a radio will be coming from an amp inside the headunit, i believe this will be too much current/voltage for the motherboard
I could be wrong though

Just take your RCA out (nearly all aftermarket headunits made in the past decade have at least 1 pair) and buy a 2x Female RCA to 3.5mm Stereo cable for $10 as mentioned above. If your using a factory head unit, your probably better off just installing a TV tuner card in your Car PC which i think most can do AM/FM frequencies?? |

It's a factory headunit..
I don't want to be spending 100 if I can only spend 20. |

It does..
So, from what I read, it takes the speaker wire, and turns it into RCA. Which I could then just use an RCA to 3.5mm cable. Correct? |

Correct. It has 4 bare wires on the input that you'd connect to the left and right speaker outputs on the head unit then a left and right RCA socket for output on the other side. It also features individual adjustable gain for both channels. All you'd need is a 2xRCA-3.5mm cable between this device and the line in on the motherboard, which can be had for a few dollars.
