Question Asus Xonar DX Software Package

My new DX arrived today and was installed into my Dell comp. Had to extend the power cable by 100mm though.
Many of the issues raised in the forums regarding Dolby/Spdif dont apply to my situation as I only use two channel stereo in transposing vynal to cd and a lot of midi work.
My problem is that the user manual states that there are two programs included in the package: Sonar LE and Ableton Live LE, but they were not there. Has any one else had the same problem?
There appears to be no way to address this issue through the Asus website, I have contacted the supplier and now waiting to hear from them.

I love the Xonar, but ASUS Suck arse for support, barstards!

Are you sure the programs are not on your driver disk?

Go to explorer and check the folders, Im sure they should be there...I didnt install myself, but I thought that I saw them......

Nope, Programs are not there. I thought the two programs might be on a separate disc that had not been included in the package.
The disc has the Xonar Drivers for XP and Vista, User Manual, and Utilities-Portable music processor.
Still waiting to hear from supplier.
Terrific sounds from the card though, definition of high hats in particular, couldn't hear them on creative crap.

I got both Ableton Live and SONAR LE with my D2X, but no key, they sent me keys for them after emailing though.

Hmmm....OK, well it has ASUS PMP Lite, and um....that seems to be it.

I thought there was supposed to be a wav studio program as welll, the manual says there is.

Maybe they are using the same manual as the D2X and not including all the software.

purchased a D2X, came with everything, i read the box it states it comes with the software.
maybe the manual is the same as the D2X one but the bundle is different.

Maybe you could burn yourself a backup and accidentally drop it in an envelope addressed to Teemacoz....? I hate when that happens..

I also did not receive any software in my box

Slightly offtopic - Does your DX get hot while your powering speakers?

This is the reply that I got regarding the missing programs

"There seems to be a mis-printing in the manual.
Xonar DX doesn’t provide Sonar LE and Ableton live LE, but only D2X and D2 do.
Sorry, there’s misleading in the manual. We will modify it."

Considering that I bought the card on the understanding that I could use the Sonar or Ableton programs to process my many midi files I am not happy.
I use a number of soundfonts to give me the sound I want and these are not usable in Ableton Live Le (I downloaded the 96mb program) Ableton would be good for audio files but not user friendly for midi.

This is where Creative wins, you can load a number of sound fonts.
The DX is a terrific card but I wish that I could load sound fonts on it instead of being stuck with MS wavetable GS synth.

You could then take it back to the retailer and argue that the sound card is unfit for purpose. An error in the manual isn't your fault, especially when you purchased it specifically for the purpose of using the bundle software, which it doesn't come with.

Where did you actually get that impression prior to purchase? I didnt think you could read the manual until after...
