Default Are late model XBOX 360s less prone to failure?

Are there any other advantages to the 65nm processing, besides heat?

I had an X360 when they first came out, and it RRODd. 3 of my friend's also had failures.

I just want to weigh up if it is worthwhile getting a 2006 2007 model for ~$200?

Or get a new one for $xxx?
Are the elite bundles truly better value?

I mainly want to play Forza 3.

Thanks,

Justin

RROD rates in Jaspers is extremely low, should not be of any concern.

Dont bother with older models, get a Jasper.

Jaspers are after 2007?

tell me more about your signature?

I noticed a lot of the $200 consoles, don't have hdds, remotes, controllers. If i was to buy all that, i will be looking at elite prices, aren't i?

This is how you tell a Jasper apart from the rest

the install to hdd was an update a while ago.

will fill a 20gb hdd quick tho - hence the need for an elite. the new models come with a 250gb hdd.

dont buy a 2nd hand xbox tho - thats just my opinion.

is that update still available on latest updates?

i remember the demos that I downloaded didn't activate that hideous fan...

yeah? i am looking at prices now...

gametrader have the arcade console at $294 and that is with forza, which I would of paid $80 for anyway!

so hdd is $100? and hd cable? $20?

seems like elite is better buy, i think... DAMN! more money... but i can't say no to value

Since NXE, all Xbox 360 had the capability to install games to HDD, just need the disc in drive when u play.

Dont bother with the arcade, get the elite. Everything added up elite is a way better deal.

and FYI 250GB is only available on the MW2 special edition, regular elite with 250GB will be released later this/next year.

Buy an Elite. If it comes in a white box you've definitely got a Jasper, and just install the games to the HDD. You'll have a blast and it'll be nice and quiet.

Cool, sounds good.
so whe games are run off the hdd, does the xbox remain in the dvd playback mode?

i remember 3 modes.

dashboard (good)
movie playback (acceptable)
game playback (ridiculous, reminded me of the old school 60mm 6800rpm cpu fans).

which Does the HDD game playback fall into?

Thanks

when installed to the HDD, the disc is only read to verify you have the game disc, that's it

No more spinning or reading off the disc after that. No more dvd drive noise after that
