Default Photoshop wizards: Lend me your... eyes.

Hey guys,

I've got a photo that I've taken of my car that I would like to bring out more detail in in the shadowed areas. I used to be okay with Photoshop but I'm just not that good anymore; I've only been able to make minor adjustments to this shot.

Can somebody give me an idea on what to do to bring out more detail in the rear of the car without making it look like crap?

Thanks

Try Shadow/Highlights and see if you can adjust that to your liking (image>adjustment>shadow/highlight). Otherwise my next suggestion would be some sort of curves adjustment.

I had a go at fixing up the back with levels.

Think I might have taken it too far.

Here's my attempt.

Adjusted the mid-tones on the back and brightened the whole image up a touch.
