For cloning software this was recommended recently:
"OpenSource clone system (OCS) solution called Clonezilla with unicasting and multicasting!" http://clonezilla.org/

![]() again, a wiki entry would be much better and easier to maintain than this thread.

If you wish to help out another OCAU user by getting into their computer.
www.teamviewer.com Get them to download TEAMVIEWERQS.exe, and you download the full download (doesn't need to be installed). They give you their ID and password, and you can log straight into their PC without a firewall and they can see what you are doing. It does time out but only after like an hour. VERY handy tool!

I'm suprised no-one has added Hirens Boot CD
http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ Link is about 2/3 of the way down. Great CD, I prefer it to UBCD. EDIT: NVM I see Tristan has done it up just up there ^^. I completely agree with Acronis, great program quite frankly. Also possibly worth adding GetDataBack (for NTFS or FAT). I recovered 5.22TB off a 320gb IDE drive, including the last 3 formats of it. Rkill (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic308364.html) is also handy. It kills any active spyware/malware processes so that you can run your other Antivirus programs Last edited by shortielah; 22nd March 2011 at 8:35 AM. |

Great thread, but I couldn't find a good remailer program, doesn't need to be anonymus, just so I get my mail from my previous ISP to the current.

Recently used MHDD/ to unlock ATA password locked drives from a decommissioned raid array, relevant commands from a boot floppy are unlock and dispwd, google for a list of ata master passwords.
It's a bit of an obscure issue, but others may have use for a HD unlocking utility. |
