Just found out about this game - got an email from Futuremark...

Couldn't find another thread on it here. If there is one please feel free to delete this.

The setting of the game intrigues me - pics look awesome. Playing above the earth in orbit on asteroids, spacestations etc in zero g.

Does anyone know if this will have a Single Player component?

One of my favourite MP games was Unreal Tournament which I mainly played through the bot matches. This game Shattered Horizon reminds me of the Facing Worlds map.

It's nice and cheap on Steam. Hope that doesn't indicate the quality of the game.

also won't work on win xp due to it being directx10...

Ever play Tribes? It was an FPS whose significant success was based on similar freedom of movement. It was truly 3 dimensional, unlike most shooters which have you glued to the ground, with a button to jump.

If this is anywhere near as fun as Tribes, it'll be a steal for $20 USD. Here's hoping for positive reviews

I really really enjoyed tribes. Or one of them atleast. Can't remember which one. The one with a good SP story. Jet packs are very fun.

If this Shattered Horizon has bots ala Quake or UT 2002 I would be very happy.

Except this is zero gravity. Anybody play any of the relatively recent games that have attempted it? Like Prey?

Yeh that was pretty tough - like moving through glue. You definitely need a good frame of reference - ie a big planet or something to orientate to and very responsive controls to give you that enjoyable FPS experience.

Who knows. The videos look good but if I can't play it against an AI/bot then it's not for me. I don't need a SP story. Just need to be able to create my own bot matches and have a blast without A: Trying to find a game B: Finding a game and getting slaughtered C: Finding a game and realising it's some "people" who don't want to play with someone else and ignore you or spend their time doing something that isn't playing the game.

from what iv seen of some pre-release reviews it seems fairly popular with the controls easy to pickup.

I too can't wait for this game. Though as others have said, its a pity there isn't a single player story. A lot of games are going this way these days... kinda crap if you live here in Aus and can never find locally hosted games (l4d versus mode anyone??)

And to the comment earlier about prey: what was so bad about that game? I quite enjoyed it and found it to be very different from many of the fps's i'd played, although it was nigh impossible to die, haha.

So what? People seem to forget titles such a Descent 1,2,3. Complete free X,Y,Z movement fps and that worked out fine. Stop being so narrow minded.

i played the demo of this, and i almost threw up..

very grainy gfx
bad coding
guns were not accurate
netcode - badx1000
jaggies on every corner of everything
6x loads to get it to stop crashing

i did like the menu, that was it

Were did you get the demo? i was thinking of purchasing this game, Reminded me abit of Natural Selection Jetpack.

Seems like a alright game, but for the price it seems it lacks the work needed for a good title.
