Default [Melb]Recommend Locations for Wedding Pics

Hey Guys,

So getting married in a couple of months and we haven't picked a photographer yet but just want to get an idea of where to take pics.. the ceremony is being held in the treasury gardens so that's an obvious spot.

want to avoid some of the more cliche spots

Any photographers can give some suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Get a good photographer, they'll know where to go.

You just concentrate on having a good time!

lmao thats no help... ok it helps a little but I think some ideas would be in order other than just saying "yeah get a good photographer!"

I wouldn't mind knowing myself actually

the location shoot depends where you're getting married and where you need to be for the reception, so timing/driving can be factored in.

around the city:

fitzroy gardens, carlton gardens, treasury gardens, botanical gardens, laneways around flinders lane area, parliament house, treasury building, collins st, south bank, docklands and st kilda beach are the most popular places.

you'd be surprised though, the number of B&Gs that ask the photographer (for points i listed on previous post). once the options are made available, then it's the B&G's decision as to where they want to go.

You can't be very serious about photography if it's only a couple months away. I've got bookings into 2011 (with 2010 being about 75% full) and clients who call for the next month or two have very little chance of filling a date. The average booking advance is about 8-12 months if you want a decent photographer and don't want to risk it.

If you're stuck for locations, think back to memorable locations from your dating & wooing stages of the relationship that are easily accessible from the wedding venue.

We ended up going to Melb Grammer School on St. Kilda Rd (near domain).

Nice old buildings blue stone buildings. It just happened on the day.
We were staying at the Royce Hotel and saw it over the Balcony and
said let go there

If you want some pics let me know.
