![]() Lian-Li PC-A71F is the doored version of PC-A70F First off, does anyone here have one or seen a PC-A71F in action? Are they quiet, what are Lian-li's stock 120mm and 140mm fans like? Is the front door on the PC-A71F too restrictive for airmovement? Better or worse than Antec P182/P183 ?? (I have a P182, looking to change/upgrade) Im after a cool yet quiet case that looks sleek and stylish. Opinions? Cheers, -Scoobth Last edited by Scoobth; 7th November 2009 at 2:55 PM. |

Bigger generally = Noisier, as you need more fan power to move air through the larger area. Unless you need the space you'd be better off with a mid-tower for a quiet build, perhaps the B10?
From what I understand of the A71F- -Lian Li make excellent Doors ATM that are not restrictive. -The stock fans are pretty average, they aren't particularly noisy but don't move much air either - HDD cooling is very good, but CPU\GPU\NB temps suffer a little due to the size of the case -AFAIK it doesn't have the same sound-insulating foam as some of the other "silent" Lian Li cases - The case itself provides decent sound dampening, would be very good with some custom foam. |

There are loads of 120mm fans, but are there any 140mm fans that people could recomend to replace the stock ones? What about the new Noctua P140 Flx ? Or is that a bad case fan? |

The P14 is really a 120mm fan that is only really suitable for use on a heatsink. They would be especially useless in a large case like the A71F, as their fins are not designed to move air through a large area.
Yate Loon 140mm fans can be had very cheap, they are very quiet but do not push a large amount of air- http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...oducts_id=7106 And on the flip side there is the Xigmatek 140mm fans which move a decent amount of air but are also a little noisy at full speed- http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=10914 Personally I'd stick with low speed Yate 140mm if I was trying to make a quiet build, though you may need to make up for the lack of airflow elsewhere. |

unless you plan on putting 10 HDDs in or a multi gpu setup, i dont see why you would need anymore than one rear fan to cool the system

circumstances have turned up allowing me to upgrade my case and PSU sooner than expected at a reduced price. But the idea is to make way for my future i7 system. Being a big case is a positive thing! Are you certain on this particular case? I found it hard finding any thorough reviews monitoring performance of the intake. I guess its still just a new product, and alot of the reviews are of the doorless version. (where the door is a non issue) So you think the 140mm yate loon would be quieter and more effective at moving air than the stock? |

Judging by the rest of Lian Li's high end range of cases, the fans on the case should be pretty decent. Their placement works really well for most of their cases, and I know this case specifically is some of the best quality models you can get.

The Door on the A71 is very similar to the one on the B10, from what I understand they are both adequately ventilated. The Yates will definitely be quieter than the stock fans, not sure which ones would push more air (probably the stock). |

Haven't used cases in years, but if I had to buy this PC-A71F or Corsair 800D would be at the very top of my shortlist for cases

Undervolting them will only get you so far, I doubt they'd start at much less than 1000RPM which is still rather high for a 140mm fan.

Fans are medium of noise, the fronts do not throw out a lot of air, expecially with the door, I have the A70f, way better air flow. These cases Pwn the Antec 182/183. Getting hard drives in and out are a breeze, there is plenty of room, there lighter and sexier. |

Do you know if the front intake area where the 140mm fans has holes for 120mm fans? |
