Nice shots mate.. reminds me of when I was there.. infact its interesting seeing your shots of Kaikoura - as it was extremely overcast and foggy when we were there.. we couldnt see any of those mountains..

The rock stacking is the over abundance of flat rocks that can be stacked.
The guild at Franz Josef said they go around kicking them down their to stop what they consider to be a stupid habit from spreading.

And yes, number 9 is Lyttelton, more specifically Lyttelton Harbour.

Thanks for that. I had convinced myself that it was some Maori tradition for mourning or something and was so careful not to touch any of them. Hahaha how wrong i was!

Heres a different perspective of the carpark seal!
Got out of the car and was playing with camera settings and almost stepped on the damn thing haha

#5 is a fucking cracker mate!

Kind of sucks about the lighting in #2 and #3 as they could of been great shots aswell.

Have you posted #20 on here before? Swear I've seen it before.. All in all nice shots mate

#3 is what's called a cairn. Usually left by north american hikers, over there they use them to mark trails and also just to show "that they've been there" over here we try and use a more softly softly approach and people try not to leave a trace.

Though that being said, on the drive up the west coast on NZ, we saw one spot that had literally hundreds of Cairns. I wish I had taken a photo there, particularly at moonlight, it would have looked amazing.
