Doubt it will be $1000, doesnt come with the 3D vision kit. Probably $700ish.

Just joined the 120Hz club with the Samsung S27A750D 27" monitor.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=251064728026

Set it up yesterday & adjusted it tonight after not having a clue about it when I unpacked it, coming from a 22" 60 Hz monitor it was totally foreign to me, even the Display Port or HDMI connection. I've got it looking good now, this is huge coming from a 22" monitor. I'm not sure how to tilt it backwards though, I assume it tilts backward & up but I haven't worked that out yet? I read to get 120Hz I should run it through Display Port not HDMI, which is what I'm doing, does anyone know if that is true thanks?

Its true, you need either displayport or dual link DVI. The 750 doesnt have DVI so you need to use the displayport for 120Hz. HDMI only gives you 60Hz.

The monitor tilts but doesnt go up and down.

There's a mod you can get that caps frames for skyrim at 100 with no vsync. This also fixes the issues that turning on vysnc would normally fix, but you don't need to put up with the input lag for vsync to get it.

I heard any FPS over 75 in skyrim causes the glitches I was experiencing at 120fps.

I got same mod and set it to 100 and still had them.

-water flashing
-random water splashing noise
-massive physics glitches, lots of animals falling from sky etc
-time getting out of sync

I stick to 75fps limit as painful as it looks.

Is it that I'm just used to 120hz so much? 75fps feels choppy but 60fps on 60hz used to feel fine...

As above, its the glitches and particularly the physics glitches that I want to avoid. Otherwise I'd just run no vsync. Stupid devs making shitty console ports - Beth really dropped the ball on this port!

Just reading over the last few pages, briefly. Can I assume that the general consensus is that the BenQ XL2420 is better than the Samsung S27A950?

Was hoping to get a 27in 120Hz monitor and I thought the price was okay on umart for the Samsung one...

I have a 60hz monitor, so there's no reason to and that's not the problem. The problem is the input lag that vsync causes (particularly the ingame vsync) and the much larger drops/steps in framerate when it inevitably dips below 45 in a place like Markarth, seeing as you're running 2560x1600 resolution.

Without vsync the game runs much better, with less of that horrid input lag and a smoother framerate below 60fps. But then you get all kinds of glitches.

Well I guess it depends on what your needs are.

Benq XL2420T
+ nVidia 3D Vision support
+ height adjustable stand
+ vesa mount

Samsung S27A950D
+ HD3D/TriDef support
+ 27 inch screen
+ no vesa mount

Well, my needs are to have a large enough screen to enjoy movies and PS3 gaming and 3D games for the future. Thought the Samsung was pretty pro but then heard from some people that it leans after time and also I have a GTX680, whereas it is made with ATI in mind? Am I right?

Im particularly sensitive to input lag myself, and the gamebryo engine.... or creation as bethesda coined it, still responds positively to adjusting the pre-render queue to 1 in the driver.

what graphics card are you running where it sometimes dips to 45?

my 275 sometimes dives to the 30's but im not really put off by the lag in the TES games, competitive fps on the other hand....

yep, for 3d on nvidia you would want the benq, 3d on ati/amd, the samsung.

I'm ruinning a Gtx 470, but at 2560x1600, fps drops are inevitable. It dips lower with vsync, but the real problem is that the input lag gets worse with lower framerates in skyrim. I already have render frames ahead set to 1. Skyrim is just a ship port, (good game though).

Drat. So there's not really any 27in solution for me is there...
