Wish Nikon would get rid of that horrible red finger grip. Anyway to dye it black? Posca or bust?

not a rant but anyway...

dropped my d3x the other week and got it in for repairs today. turns out a new lcd is only $200 inc labour. that's pretty awesome considering i thought i'd be up for 4 x that price.

Wow, that's pretty damn cheap for a high-res screen of such a small size.

Almost cried the other week when I was in Coffs. Guy with a 5D Mark II and what looked to be the 24-105 Canon Lens. Anyway he's taking a shot of a waterfall from a lookout and I noticed him using LiveView instead of the eyepiece to take the shot.

I then overheard him saying to someone next to him "Yeah I've only ever used it on Auto, it's easier that way and the guy at the shop reckoned it takes perfect photos in Auto"

I cringed a little bit and continued shooting.
