Default Vodka Melon

Try this to get a party going on a hot night

Get a melon, make a small hole in the top and insert a funnel. Now pour vodka into the funnel until it's full. Over a short while, the melon will absorb the vodka. Now re-fill the funnel, let it absorb again, then repeat until it won't take any more vodka or your party starts.

You should chill the melon well in a fridge for a few hours before slicing it.

This fruit is evil and makes folk do strange things after a slice of it

sounds like fun..

went to a party once where we had vodka jelly shots. just make up a packet or 10 or jelly. add as much vodka as you like, and pour it into shot glasses to set.

can get a bit messy tho

Are there any more good alcoholic fruit combos out there? I seem to remember VooDoo extolling the virtues of strawberries injected with a liquor (bourbon?) but the precise details escape me.

Sultanas soaked for a few weeks in Brandy are nice. Big 43% grapes is what you end up with. Nice on Ice Cream.

this works but you need to let it absorb for a few hours (4 or more ) or it is a waste unless it depends in the size of the watermelon 9we used a really large one )

I tried those jelly shots once but DAMN they were sweet... we ended up just drinking from the bottle

An alcoholic watermelon sounds nice though *writing on 'to do' list*

[Edit: Perhaps vodka and a rockmelon]

Hrmm, I don't a canteloupe would absorb the vodka as well as a watermelon would.

aahhh vodka melon!

last summer, a few mates of mine 'fed' this watermelon a bottle of vodka over a few days

the problem with it, was that you didnt know you were eating a couple of shots of vodka within a few minutes....

soooo nice

What the..?
Since when has it been illegal to call a rockmelon a canteloupe in Australia? My family have always called it that. It's hardly the same as calling an arse an 'ass', which is wrong by all accounts.

How long do you feed the watermelon vodka?

And how much ?

I can see this all getting wonderfully out of hand at a party or two
