Default Optusnet cable and runescape?

Okay I am an avid player of runescape, however optus cable seems to be terrible for playing... In that everything about the game is laggy, and I have a massive click delay... the time in which it responds to my clicks varies , however it is mostly at the slow end of the scale. I.e the game is really jumpy. I don't know why this is as i tested my d/l today and it was 9.17mbps and my upload was 256k. I've updated all my drivers etc to no avail. I've even tried playing the game on my brothers computers and it is exactly the same. Is anyone here with optus and experiencing the same problems on runescape?

My friend was with telstra and had the same problems, then changed to iinet and the game ran with no errors whatsoever.

P.s in about 9 days theyre upping us to 20mbps 512k upload - (cheap bastards didn't tell us that the plan had existed for ages, and left us hanging on the 10mbps 256k speed) Do you think this will help?

Could be an issue with the upstream provider that Telstra/Optus use? If this is the case it wont matter how fast your connection is.

I would suggest doing some tracert's to isolate where the problem may lie and take it from there.

I did that, found where the biggest latency jump is, every other server that is listed in the tracert loads up quickly except for that one.

This might be a stupid suggestion, but have you ruled out Java being the issue?

What about trying it in another browser?
