Default Plan Payout/Freeze Options (Optus)

Alright... I am planning to go overseas this year in July, approximately 12 months into my 24 month contract.

I intend to be away anywhere from 3months - 12months from Australia. This pretty much warrants my current optus plan ($79 cap) useless to me for this period as I intent to get pre-paid cards in the countries I visit. Albeit I wouldn't mind keeping my Australian number for when I return.

Is there anyway you can 'freeze' a contract for a set period of time, so that upon my return I continue the contract where I left off? or is my only option to either pay it out in a lump sum or let it run this distance and pay it monthly whilst away?

Thanks

Call me crazy and all, but why not just ring the carrier and ask?

If you've ever called Optus, you'd know why...

To answer the question: no, unfortunately.
