Hi all,
I want to place a checkerboard pattern on a vaguely spherical surface. Just wondering if anyone has a simple way I could place the checked pattern on a sphere like so: http://www.princeton.edu/~ctralie/Pr...ker_sphere.jpg .. and then "flatten" it so I can use the pattern as a template for the real object. Cheers!

I'd use Swift 3D, simply import a texture and whack it on one of the default spheres.
I'm sure you could use a number of other options but off the top of my head that would be easiest. Unless you use Blender or something else a little more advanced. |

If you have Adobe Photoshop CS4, you can create the sphere using the 3d tool, and place the texture onto it. Also good thing about photoshop cs4, it lets you paint directly on it, using the brush tool

Are you trying to do this in real life?
