It's more accurately a Wi-Fi hotspot functionality rather than USB modem tethering. Telstra and Voda are pushing updates to their HTC Windows Phones that enables the functionality. It's in the Settings menu.

Well i finally got this sorted, I needed to reflash the rom on my phone. I guess i must have broken something along the way (trying to get NoDo/Mango early i suspect!).

Yay for wifi internet sharing!

Just noticed the ebay seller I got my LG E900 from has cut the price even further. New, unlocked, Australian stock Optimus 7 for $179. That is a freakin bargain for a phone with those specs, nothing Android powered even comes close. Once you connect them to Zune they will update all the way to mango 7740 with internet sharing.

For anyone who is still sitting on the fence or wants a cheap phone check it out.

Be aware folks ..does not suport Telstra's Next G (850Mhz) network. Should be Ok if you go with another carrier.

Yeah that's right, 900/2100 same as most of the HTCs. I run Optus so it's fine (woolworths mobile - very cheap data). The majority of WP7 devices seem to only be dual band, which means either 850 or 900. So you need to pick the right version straight up.

I heard Telstra will be getting it early in the new year? They'd want to with it being a premium handset.

Anyway I'm quite confident that it's quad band so it'll work in Australia if you get it overseas.

The early units were all European sourced hence 900MHz, I don't think the quad band version has hit the streets yet.

I'm stuck in a rut. I am currently with Telstra prepaid and like the added coverage it gets me but want a WP7 phone. I only have about $250 to play with and struggling to find anything without that I don't have to import. I was considering just getting the LG and changing providers...

I'm pretty sure you can buy a mozart outright for sweet fa. It was $360 or $240, can't remember.

Woha! The quad-band version would rock! Take it to whichever network you want to use it on!

I would NEVER buy another Mozart again!!! Worst phone I have ever had.

Many Mozart users are still having the same "non-responsive" screen problems as I am having....

Its a wierd problem that comes and goes for no rhyme or reason...somedays it works fine others I cant use it at all. Sometimes when the phone rings I am unable to answer and 9 times out of 10 Im the one that has to ring people back at my expense.

It's not many users FFS!!

If the phone is not working, return it under warranty. It's not that hard!.

If he did that, it'd get fixed then he'd have nothing to complain about though!
