Question FREE MMOrpgs with highest quality graphics?

Hi guys, long time lurker, new member

As you all know mmos are released and updated frequently. right now there are just too many to "just try" ... no one has much time.

It's a hard question but I couldn't find a discussion on OCAU about it or I just suck at searching

the mainstream p2p mmos are quite good and their graphics are up there but what I'm interested in are there any FREE mmos that are comparable if not better in graphics quality than the p2p ones?

sure its a compromise between gameplay and graphics but with todays technology games with horrible graphics no matter the gameplay or story are just too quick to burn out.

The best free to play MMO I would say is Dungeons & Dragons Online : Eberron Unlimmited (DDO)

It was a p2p MMO on release but because turbine was a tad green and the engine was buggy, DDO on release was bad... After it's initial release however, Turbine dropped it like a bag of manure because they soon after DDO got the MMO rights to Lord of the Rings Online.

As we all know LotR Online is now massively popular.
What many didn't know however was that LotR uses the updated engine from DDO. Because of that, Turbine after doing well with LotR turned their attention to DDO, upgraded it to the latest engine version DX10 and bassically make it a most enjoyable and far more polished game, still the same as originally but just patched up. After that Turbine make it a f2p game that unlike other f2p games, actually had three pay modes.

Firstly to get a player base back to a healthy level, they made it so that a player can enjoy almost everything and fully level for absolutely nothing, completeky FREE. (DDO pre update was dying out of neglect so it's player base dwindled.) There's nothing that gets people to play better than the word free.

The next pay option is the turbine credits system, micro transactions. As you would know, this system alloys you to buy items potions/equipment and unlock instances unavailable to Non paying players, also some classes must be bought. This can be good, the main things you pay for cost a bit but once you have them I.e shared bank among all your characters. Plus some choice instances, you can play for nothing quite comfortably.

The last option is the p2p monthly subscription, basically if you want everthing the game has to offer, you can go for the traditional $20 a month and have everthing the game offers without limmits or further cost.

The game is good, I just started playing this week and am loving it.

before you post I downloaded and installed DDO...pretty much cam eto the same conclusion....the graphics quality is quite good

and its exactly the style i'm looking for....cross between WOW and diablo although if it was scifi in space version or military missions like COD that would be the ideal...

however since fantasy games are too easy to create content for...there are none i've found in the other genres
