Oh me?

Well OCZ PC3-12800 Platinum 3x2GB OCZ3P1600LV6GK is what I am using now.

There was a mistake 1st up (I got sent 1333mhz kit) which I returned, the 1600mhz kit was faulty (just my luck) but I got a replacement asap. In PCCG fixed me up both times at the speed of light; awesome.

The new stuff is doing great, have not messed with it much, but it seems to handle decent clocks.

I just ordered another 6gb since I am so used to 8gb on my Q8200 and want to be able to run VM's without any probs while doing other things.

Have been using it for a week or so now, all good.

The thing that is really sucky, is that for a while I am bankrupt thus have to put up with a GTX280 hehe.

One of the boys at PCCG had this issue with a UD7.

What do you mean by knock it out? Damage it completely or stop it from working with the extra pressure?

Normally the latter.

A slot can stop working, or do other weird stuff.

I have a mate who had a chip show present in DDR3_3 and say enabled in DDR3_2 for example, where it clearly wasn't present

Loosening HSF or silicon washers usually fixes this (tis a rare issues I believe however).

I made a tough call earlier this week, i splurged and got the 980x, x58a-ud9, corsair GT 6 gig, Intel X25-M 160 and 5970, and a Silverstone FT02 Case.

Dammit looks like i was too rushed in reviewing all the bits, and couldnt for the life of me get the ud-9 to fit.

Um n arghed between swapping the case or mobo for a UD7. Measured and measured to see what i could chop out of the case to make it fit.

The case won, and I finally opted to swap the mobo for a UD7 + NH14 with the left overs, thinking it wouldnt be too much difference in the end.

I gotta say, it was quite noticeable difference in the start up times and the quality of the BIOS, between the UD7 and the UD9.

I can see where the extra cash goes into the UD9, its hard to get it from all the reviews and other thread posts, but my thoughts are there is a noticable difference between the two, and I wish i decided to keep the mobo instead.

Oh well, my two cents worth for anyone contemplating the same idea when choosing between a case and the huge xl-atx X58a-UD9. Go the MOBO!

I would've just used the board on a cardboard box until you got the case issues sorted. Would love to try out this board

yeh, i had all the bits setup and sprawled across the coffee table with the case in the corner,

but i got impatient, and regret the decision now!

Nice case, but i look at it now with a slight bit of contempt

Nice dinos22

Gives me a warm feeling all over, even if I don't have the slightest interest in breaking world records, nice to know my board has what it takes
