If you need something to heat up these spring days then feat your eyes on the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD9 motherboard in the black/white picture below and be careful not to drool on the keyboard. The upcoming uber-end Intel X58-powered board features two 8-pin power connectors providing the CPU for extra watts needed for overclocking, a 2oz copper PCB, and has a large cooling system that includes a waterblock for the northbridge, six DDR3 memory slots, plus nothing, and we do mean nothing but PCI-Express x16 slots - 7 of them in total, for CrossFireX or n-way SLI setups.

The GA-X58A-UD9 also includes ten SATA ports, four of which are probably 6.0 Gbps, 7.1 channel audio, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 connectors, DualBIOS, and a debuLED. Currently the board is lacking color, a price tag and a release date so we should be hearing more about it in the near future. You can start saving up for one.

I'd be glad to totally do away with old PCI. Haven't used a PCI device in many years.

OH GOD I WANT IT SO MUCH. SOOO MUUUCH. I am literally throbbing.

Now that that is out of the way, I sort of feel like it's Gigabyte trying to claw back some attention from the EVGA dual-socket monster. Should be very interesting to see how the dual 8-pin setup goes and how soon we see it crammed full of 5870s or 480s.

SATA3 and USB3 would be the same as other boards wouldn't it? Just use the Pci-e lanes as currently there is no Intel compatibility with it directly.

Yeh but there looks to be an nf200 chip or 2 under the "9" heatsink.

I so hope to god they lose those homo colours.

Is there an estimated price of this board when it hits the retailers shelves? and how long before it comes out?

That board is truly a thing of beauty and power. 7 PCIe slots is insane. I'm guessing with dual slot cards you'd only be able to utilise 4 of the 7 (and as such, the using the IDE/PATA might be tricky).

You could turn this into a caption contest thing "Power Corrupts".

A little different to these shots:

Noting that the final cooling solutions are omitted but notice the extra supplimentry molex power near the top PCI-E slot.

My board still has the 7 on the "SB Cooler" but this shows the colour and lay out.

Also, here is a shot of it all loaded up

We need more cases with 10 expansion slots. Well just by looking at the picture I think it's similar to a 4 SLI Classified, which needs the 10 slots so that all the PCIE slots can be used.
