Default E-sata external hdd to sata port?

hey guys i have a 1tb wd mybook with firewire and esata ports, my new mobo doesnt have esata ports or firewire and i hate usb to death for what i use the hdd for. Is it possible to plug the hdd straight from esata to the sata port of the motherboard? (the hdd is powered via ac)

youll want an esata to sata cable, or a bracket that sits in a slot that extends one of your sata ports to an esata port to th eback.

Yeah. Single ones are about $1.50 on ebay, or $3 for a dual port one.
