Capcom mentioned they weren't bothering with SSFIV on PC, after the pretty crazy piracy rates of SFIV. My guess is MvC3 will be console-only as well.

Not that it stresses me. The fastest PC in my house struggles to play Half Life 2 at full native res of the attached monitor (1900x1200), and I'm not terribly interested in dropping hundreds of bucks on it for an upgrade when I have two perfectly functional consoles at my disposal.

The money saved will go towards parts for a scratch build VewLix cabinet instead.

PS3/Xbox360 cab sounds like the win . SSF2 HD remix is my favorite SF release - would be sweet in a cab!

Will be based on the Taito VewLix

Got the screen ready. Just waiting for it to cool down to do the woodwork. If all goes well, it'll be ready for MvC3 and some tournaments in the gamesroom.

Much flimsier than a real Japanese cab, but still great for home (or even onsite - I see plenty of them around town).

Not in those pictures is my new Sega Versus City, which is much better build quality. But for the price, you can't argue with the Chinese knockoffs. Plus they come with brand new monitors, so the picture is super sharp.

Sentinel and Hsien-Ko:

Apparently that's the last of the standard characters. I'm really looking forward to playing this!

Anyone know what the go is with DLC?

If I get this from somewhere like OzGameShop (UK) for PS3, can I get Aussie DLC to work with it?

I'm asking because Capcom have confirmed they'll be adding characters via DLC, and I don't want to miss out (or have to buy two copies).

[edit] Looks like making multiple PSN accounts is easy enough. Screw paying $100+ for it here in AU.

Yep something is seriously wrong with both PSN prices and Microsoft "points" on XBLA. Somehow we are expected to pay twice as much for downloadable content because we live in AU?

It amuses me slightly that for years we've been told PAL/AU gamers get screwed because of "distribution costs" with our low population densities and large area.

Now digital downloads rule the world, and we're still getting screwed. It's pretty obvious that Aussie gamers get dicked around because we can.

I also find it amusing that Australia has the highest rate of software piracy in the English speaking countries, yet nobody has figured out the correlation between that and the fact that we pay the most for games in the same demographic.

But anyways... I digress. I'll be buying MvC3 from the UK. Screw paying $99+ for it here in AU, particularly when not an extra cent will go to Capcom whether I buy it locally, or grab it from overseas for 50% the Aussie shelf price (and kiss my arse Gerry Harvey - even with GST it would still be 40% cheaper than Australia).
