Default Logo Feedback please

Been playing around with some Logo ideas for my Photography Website for both the headings on the pages as well as for Watermarking images.

Originally I was going to get fancy and try and incorporate something in the logo that represented a camera / aperture blades etc but I think that will make it too busy / hard to reproduce on business cards etc.

I came up with 3 ideas last night and I've asked friends and work colleagues as so far I have not even a skerrick on concensus so I thought I'd ask you guys.

Logo #1 - Incorporating the Large letters into the name

Logo #2

Logo #3

I'm not all that sure on #1 as although I like the idea I do feel the "Logo" should probably be seperate from the name but then its a bit different

logo 1...

However having the top line finish past the below line makes you read it back to front.

It should be layed out

Craftypics
photography

Not
Code:
           craftypics
photography
It just reads wrong imo.

Top one is better than the last two though.

I feel number 3 is the most balanced, although I dislike how there is more space between the C and P at the top than there is at the bottom. The bottom spacing is perfect.

I agree with this and it would be easy to chop off a bit off the bottom of the C to at least line it up. These were done late last night so they still would need some work

Yep..it was a rough POC really and the finished product will be more polished with proper spacing

Argent - food for thought. I quite like the look of Bold and Not Bold text to highlight the branding and then the service.

Mind you though, that's a very VERY cliched way of doing it these days and can be seen everywhere now. But it's still very modern and quite nice if done with the right typeface/font.

Another thing you might consider is the 'strength of the lines' (this is one of the basics in graphic design conceptualisation) in the motif. Having a continuous line that makes up the CP bit gives it a bit more strength than say breaking it up in your v1 and v3.

#1 looks like argent.

It really is all about font choice.

Maybe head over to http://www.dafont.com Squeezer and have a look at the various fonts on offer, you might get a few more ideas.

I like the idea of #2, but think it just needs more refinement.

start playing with different fonts.. I think thats the easiest and best way to refine it. The current font you have is pretty ordinary.. try a helvetica light look perhaps?

What I first saw to be honest

Being constructive, I like the look of argent's logos

I'm gonna go with #4 on the poll. But not because they're crap.

I feel they're a good start, but you need to employ a graphic designer to finish it off and make it more polished..

CP = child porn or control panel most of the time when abbreviated. You could do it plenty of other ways and still have it look cool.

CPP?

Exactly the thing I saw as well. heh, I wouldn't abbreviate the words.
If you're just after a watermark, just use some plain text.

If you want a proper logo for your business, pay someone to do it.
