Lightbulb ATI Catalyst 10.4 Software Suite Available Now!

DOWNLOAD HERE: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx
RELEASE NOTES: http://www2.ati.com/relnotes/Catalys...ease_notes.pdf

Quote:
AMD released the final iteration of Catalyst 10.4 graphics driver suite. The WHQL-signed drivers keep up with the company's one month update cycle, and introduce a wide range of changes. To begin with, game-specific performance improvements in this release are confined to STALKER - Clear Sky, with up to 6% improvement in frame-rates for the Radeon HD 5970, and up to 3% for HD 5800 and HD 5700 series GPUs. There are changes to the video-decoding features, namely addition of H.264 Level 5.1 support, and a fix that reduces the "mosquito noise" seen in highly-compressed video.

Improvements to the video-transcoding capabilities are also a highlight of this release, with enhanced support for Windows 7 drag-and-drop video converter, namely performance increment, support for new H.264 formats such as MTS and WMV9 Complex profile interlaced content, and the ability to toggle GPU-acceleration from Catalyst Control Center. Support for the ATI Video converter is now available in the advanced view of the ATI Catalyst Control Center.

I have this issue too. Last time I checked I couldn't find a way to lock 2D clocks either.

Is this for 5xxx cards only? I tried going through the AMD site and it came up with:

"Server Error in '/us-en' Application."

Edit: I noticed that they mention only the 5xxx cards have received the BFBC2 loading time fix

The 10.4 preview driver should support 4000 series

If you want fixed loading times for other than 5xxx cards for BFBC2 you want this driver - http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles...-a-Hotfix.aspx

Its newer than the official 10.4's anyway.

Thanks,

So who thinks that the flicker issue when overclocking is done / not fixed on purpose? i.e clocks go to low in 2d mode.. could be a easy fix but its like them spanking us for overclocking

Unless you bios flash

anybody know if they have fixed the bs with dual monitors yet?

meaning..

my dell 27" gets glitchy on lower half of screen when i have my 22" chimei plugged into port2.

res 1920x1200 for the 27, and 1680x1050 for the 22. (both using dvi)

this did not happen on my 9800GT..

assuming its a driver glitch.. but wondering if anybody has seen/heard of this.

It's a known issue with 2D clocks being too low after you enable Catalyst Overdrive. Simple fix is to use an alternative overclocking program - I use ATT and have separate 2D and 3D profiles.
