I'm thinking of getting one or two of these... after watching this I wasn't filled with confidence:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4Q78-G1xHA

Apparently the viewing angles aren't as good as they could be, and there's a fair bit of backlit bleed. (If that's the right term?)

Can anyone who has one address this? I've currently got a crappy ol' BenQ FP222W... so I'm sure it will still be an upgrade. I was also considering a Samsung 2443BW+ - it's 16:10 which is preferable but displayport and IPS has made me more U2311 inclined...

I've only a day or two to decide until the Dell sale finishes D:

Mine is fine. Viewing angle is not an issue as I'm only looking at the one front on and backlight is minimal with that characteristic fade from left to right. Barely noticeable.

I agree. If you want to pick faults you can, it isn't perfect. But the horizontal viewing angles are as good as my TN display, and the vertical viewing angles are far superior to the TN. And there's no input lag (it's indistinguishable from my 2ms TN panel anyway).

I've seen the backlight bleed and tint issues in reviews online. I calibrated my screen (just by eye, no equipment) then checked, and there's no tint and the backlight issue is only visible on a flat grey screen - I can't see it at all if there's stuff on the screen.

I have no hesitation recommending this monitor.

Sssooo tempting to replace my 2405fpw with one of these...

I would use it for the PC and occasionally PS3 when the girlfriend has the tv tied up, but I am worried about losing some real estate from 16:10 to 16:9. Would those of you with older Dells either 2405, 2407 or 2408's and this monitor post up a side-by-side photo?

It'd be greatly appreciated!

Would like a 24" 16:10 LED backlit 120hz though, hope they are on the market soon!
(but I shudder to think of the price!)

Actually I forgot to ask, how much better is the colour of the U2311 over an average TN panel? 'cos when I run my CRT next to my current TN LCD... the whites on the LCD are so yellow. Having that white on a new LCD would be nice...

Is the U2410 a better monitor? obvious things like size, resolution aside... things like colour etc?

Once you do some adjustments, the colours are awesome. It is an IPS panel after all, even if it is e-IPS.

What about compared to the U2410? The cost of 2*U2311 is the same as a U2410 with the current discounts... Having all the inputs on the 24" is also attractive.

The U2410 is a better monitor. It costs over twice as much. But the U2311 doesn't suffer from the input lag of the U2410, so it may be a little better for gaming.

And yeah, the colours are better than a TN. Not mind-blowing, but clearly better than my old LCD.

I've used a Dell 24" before... I believe it was a VA. It was pretty damn awesome... looking at all the specs the U2410 is a better monitor, I'd rather go for that incase i end up neglecting the secondary 23". Input lag? I do like my games, but I'm not that anal about it.

Can anyone comment on the authority of the above review? It's suggesting the screen of the U2311H is better than that of the U2410. Atleast that's what i make of it. Has anyone used both the U2410 AND U2311H - and can say which they would prefer, dual 2311 or single 2410? Really having a hard time here...

Hey I know it's a bit of a random question, but what are the dimensions of the actual box the 2311 comes in?
Preferably in metric units... Cheers!
Would like to know ASAP
