I have ran a passive GF9400GT and an HD5450 in my SG05 no worries though these are pretty much the least powerful cards available

Just a bit of an update...

Project Shoebox has now gone fully aircooled.
In the end the confined space meant that the MCP350 just didn't have enough room to be adequetely dampened meaning that the vibration noise - as little as there were, resulted in the rig being louder than i wanted.

With a Scythe Big Shuriken and a Noctua 120mm on the CPU, and a Thermaltake TRAD2 on the 5850, things are now as quiet as i want them. Only remaining modifications are likely to involve the PSU as when things heat up that poor little 80mm fan spins up considerably resulting in yet again... noise.

I'll post some photo's of the now absolutely cavernous interior now that the 120mm radiator is gone. I'll probably put the 1tb drive that i removed back inside the case and attempt to silence it a bit. I never thought i'd be complaining that a Seagate Barra12 1Tb drive was loud, but i guess i am.

Do you know of any other 450w SFX power supplies?
Unfortunately it's a cornered market... and i'll probably end up paying it.

be interested to know how your aircooling is going!

probably going to attempt the aircooling route, perhaps maybe with a H50 on the cpu if possible...

Call me crazy, but im sure i remember seeing something about seasonic releasing an x series sff psu
Pretty sure they are releasing a 460w fanless gold one in the not too distant future

I've had to wind back the overclock for daily stability which is something that i had accepted when swapping from water to air. The positive is that with both the cpu fan and the gfx fan dialled down to ~35-40% the system is now what i consider to be acceptably quiet.

I haven't had much of a chance to tinker with it aside from lanning with it immediately after i swapped it over to aircooling. It survived but i did have to dial back the OC during the LAN due to instability.

I thought i'd post a but of an update to say that i've since removed the watercooling gear to cut down on weight and to further reduce noise.
The biggest limitation in keeping the noise down on this setup was the pump vibration. Despite padding the pump there simply wasn't enough room in the case to mount and adequetely isolate the pump to completely eliminate the vibrations being transferred to the chassis.

V2 of Full Shoebox used the same DFI mobo with a Scythe Big Shuriken and 120x120x25mm Noctua fan that would only come on when the CPU hit 45º. I also added a Thermalright TRad2 to the 5850 with a 120x120x12mm Scythe Slipstream Slim fan which only came on when the graphics card hit 50º. With only the PSU fan idling along for daily use it was a very quiet setup.

V3 of Full Shoebox has just started being built. I've swapped over to a Gigabyte H55N-USB3 motherboard for the USB 3.0 support and am just finalising the HSF setup. Most likely going to be a Thermalright AXP-140 with another 12mm Scythe Slipstream Slim fan. Also contemplating attempting to relocate the PSU to the lower front of the case to make room for a full height tower heatsink, but due to the proximity of the CPU to the graphics card on this Gigabyte H55N-USB3 mobo i don't think that's going to achieve what i want.

The OC headroom on the Gigabyte board seems to be a little bit better than the DFI board, but the lack of proper fan control on the Gigabyte is very annoying. Why bother putting together an almost brilliant motherboard and then skimp on fan control!

Should've expected that.
Pics will be posted when v3's HSF setup has been resolved. I refuse to post a pic of a 'completed' build with a stock HSF in operation on OCAU. It's just not cool.

Great build mate!
Very similar to mine (hadn't seen your until now), but I used the Corsair H70 to achieve similar performance to what you had with the water cooling setup. But, noise isn't much of a concern for me like it seems to be for you.

The Gigabyte board is a monster with dual core CPUs....I had my 670 running at 4.8GHz stable in my build but swapped it for an i5 750 which has better overall gaming performance. Still running at 4.2GHz with a quad core is great! I suspect you'll also fine the Gigabyte to give you better results with your overclock, but with the more limited cooling we'll just have to see

Good luck

Any modifications to the board required to get the 4.2ghz?
With the last DFI board i had to do some serious heatsinking of all the VRM's to keep it stable.
