Anyone know an app that will let me play wav voicemail messages directly from my gmail account?

EDIT: Wave Player Free works fine. Can't believe that took me so long to find.

Does anyone know if there's an Android app as detailed as iStudiez for the iPhone? I used it at uni in semester one last year when I had my iPhone but then moved to Android before the second semester started.

Basically the main thing about it is that you can create classes (the iPhone app called them courses) and then you can put in lectures/tutorials or anything into that course, as well as setting assignments/dates for each course. Would love to find something like it.

A cool idea for recording your calls on Android, just hack the Phone.apk file.

Running it already, has a flashing REC in the top left, you can stop and start recording, and the 3rd link is an app to change the file name convention and to turn off incoming and/or outgoing call recording Calls can be found in /sdcard/sounds/callrecords/

This is why I love Android. I love being able to play with apps written by people on XDA and not be forced to go through a store. And the fact that they can change the way a stock android app works is brilliant. However I see how it's not for the average user, the install procedure is not great. You need to flash it as an update.zip using recovery and it backs up your original Phone.apk

Is there any application which can handle Voicemail locally in the phone? Eg rejecting a call when you're busy? By that token, the carrier one can be used when you're out of range / phone I off.

Can you imagine Apple allowing a developer to change the code of there Phone app? Did you know that the apple ecosystem wont allow the Microphone to be used by a second app when on a call? At least it did last time I looked which means no Voice Recording app ever for the iPhone.

Pros and cons for each phone, I just dont like how closed Apple is. However a friend trying to setup Android phones for a corporate environment found it has no option for a Proxy

Anyone have an app to force wifi access via a proxy server? I dont a have a need for it, but a friend is giving Android a pasting for not including proxy access. For corporate environment it's pretty crazy

OK so the downside to using apps from a forum, is not a lot of testing is done. Driving home this arvo and taking a few calls over my in-car Bluetooth. It would drop the call after only 2 words and then I would need to unpair and pair the phone before it would connect to bluetooth again.

Have flashed back to stock Phone.apk.

I've been buggering about installing 2.3.3 today and I've reset my phone so I figure now is a good time to refresh my apps. Currently I use

Handcent for SMS
Lookout for virus scanning
Winamp for music
Swype for keyboard
Miren for browser

anyone know of any better alternatives?

There are a few Android trojans around, and I haven't seen a drop in performance, so why not?

there are quite a few android viruses floating around these days, the latest one is only in china atm apparently. it sounds very very nasty

when your installing stuff that doesn't allways come from the market, lookout is very good, it automatically scans every app you put on there.
