That'd be great... if Kies worked.

According to the comments those updates haven't hit Kies yet.

I'd expect it'll be announced in Samsung UK Mobile's Twitter feed when it is released, there's a few mentions of the Froyo delay there. Does the UK have the same version of the phone as us?

I got impatient and just updated to XXJPM using ODIN. For those game, here is a pretty comprehensive guide.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=807886

EDIT: This firmware seems pretty damn good. Much better than the XXJPH I was running before. For anybody running one of the earlier froyo roms this upgrade is worth it.

Updated this morning using that page as a guide, coming from 2.1 which came with the phone. Quite like some of the new things (that I've noticed so far) like easier app updates from the market place, and you can pinch the home screen and see all your home screens at once . I'm sure there's a lot more feature's I have yet to discover.

The only thing I had a problem with was Swype, when I got my phone it was on by default, whereas it was just a standard keyboard on this build. Tried to install a couple of version from the net but no dice... The I discovered you just need to hold down the settings key on they keyboard itself, and you can switch to Swype (so it was there all along).

I have just installed RDP Lite on my S and want to know how to set up a profile to a Windows 7 64-bit machine.... Anyone successfully setup RDP Lite to a computer that had 1 user an no password set? Also does it work over port 3389 or 3390? and does WORKGROUP need to be entered into the domain field?

I keep getting 'socket is not connected' message on my phone

Official 2.2 is starting to trickle out now.

The wait is over.

Does JPM use less memory then JPH? I used to have 200mb+ after using task killer with the stock 2.1 but then went down to 170 with JPH (after a reset, which then diminishes down to 140~).

Seems to use about 170MB of ram with the just the OS and bare essential services running. It certainly feels much faster than JPH, however some of this could just be the fact that I did a re-flash and repartition and factory restore.

I've seen it free with Virgin on a $39 cap with $300 and 300MB (no idea on SMS).

A hell of a deal.
