What are some of the essential apps that people here use on their galaxy? (either free or paid)

Just got mine and there's so many things to do!

AutoTeeth is one I find very useful. Turns on BT when I walk away from my wifi AP.

got my galaxy S set up perfectly:

installed this custom rom:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=813954

then installed the custom battery meter (to show me percentage remaining all the time in a little circle where the normal battery meter goes)

then installed the stock lockscreen (being able to enter and exit silent mode from the lockscreen is a godsend)

then installed launcherpro plus

then installed one click lag fix

then apps that i wanted to suit (astro, angry birds, flight control, various other things).

16gb microSD card is in there for a total of 32gb storage

Which lagfix scheme are you using? RyanZA's one? Coz that rom comes with a Kernel which supports better lagfixes like Voodoo and NO-RFS.

thinking about getting this phone.

does the phone present the 16+16 as one volume, or does it store them as separate folders?

probably an insanely stupid question but I've only ever considered cheap phones until recently so don't know what these fandangled devices can do.

Two drives as usb mass storage, external sd card appearing as a directory under android file system.

Can't say I've used an expensive one, (or in actual fact used one before) but my $1.60 delivered protector seems to be fine to me.

my $3 case on the other hand is slightly lacking, it doesn't offer protection for a direct fall onto the top or bottom

I did a bit of searching on the net, and apparently the best one out of all of them (zagg, best skins ever, bodyguards, sgp, etc) is the sgp ultra oleophobic. This is in terms of stuff like durability, clarity and sharpness, rainbow effect, fingerprint retention, which the cheap ones don't do very well in.

I've ordered one for my galaxy which should be here next week.
