Ive got a beta ver of it. It adds a whole new look to quake. Though there are still a few bugs in it, like the water being drawn to shiney.

i still play this game every day and have done so for years (online)

FUHquake is by far the best QuakeWorld Client it runs very smooth and makes quake look like some of the modern day games

remember people this game is now 6 years old

took a look at the specs

Tenebrae anti performance tweaking

"Finally so you can compare to something here are some of my experiences with Tenebrae's speed.
Some times from my system: Geforce4 Ti 4200, PIII 900, 256 Mb Ram
Speeds measured by using "timedemo demo1"
The average speed in 320*240 is 26.4 fps
The average speed in 640*480 is 25.6 fps (update v1.01 runs at 33.5 fps)
The average speed in 1024*768 is 21.5 fps "

oh my god

There is some realy interesting things comming out of the Q1 community now. I've seen bump mapping, 24bit textures, coloured lighting. Its realy good to be able to go back to QW in a whole and see it in a hole new way.

the only problem with people 'going back' to quakeworld is that they hit a wall. They're used to cs players and then they'll come up against a seasoned quake player and have their arse handed to them. It is easily the hardest game to play online, but it's also one of the easiest to play if you're with people of your own skill level.

I know how you feel. I left QW for 3 years and now ive gone back to playing with someone who is a seasoned player and mapper. It's quite humiliating to lose 30-10 to someone who has only been playing since '99 considering I've been playing since it first came out.

Again, sorry to post off topic but there seems to be some seasoned quakers in here... does anybody know if you can disable Autoaim when playing a LAN game of Q1?

I play on my home LAN and the inability to aim rockets at ppl's feet drives me mad!
