Well most of the admin is done on a browser based system and the set up is done through a gui set up program anything more thatn that nad you have to go command line.

I suppose the best place to start looking would be www.smoothwall.org as there are a few screenshots there. There are images in the documentation as well.
Most options etc can be set or changed from the gui (via a web browser), but more advanced tweaking is done from the command line.
