Is it really that bad? i was considering buying one of these but if the AG coating is as bad as people are saying then i might not

I'm thinking hard about this for my 2311. But some questions though.
How much water needs to be used? Does it need to be distilled? What happens if it isn't? Hot or cold water? Is it hard to damage the polarizer? Does removing the AG make the panel any more fragile? Or annoying to look at? Thanks.
