Default A few general baybus q's

Hi, just got my baybus from pccg, looks pretty easy to install just gotta get some wires and most probably some heat srink tubing.

Most likely some of these questions have been asked from time to time, ive searched about these extensivley and havent found any info on most of these :|

Anyway, what i was asking was:

1. On the instruction set that comes with it, it says:

"4. While the fan is in the low speed position, you can adjust the potentiometer until the fan operates at the desired level."

I understand what this means, like you can set it to like 5v or 7v or whatever you want (i think anyway), but by default, it is 7 isn't it?

2. One of my bastard cousins put one of the led holders ON one led whilst i was out for abit, like, whilst the baybus is not in my case or is not even prepared (i had all the stuff out just planning the install out).. I pretty much figure im up shit creek without a paddle? pretty funny i know :P, but basically its locked in there pretty hard, basically ive thought the only way is to rip it off with the led attached? It will only rip the little bulb off it correct? Might just be able to saw the plasic led holder off bit by bit and buy another one perhaps? Would anyone stock these like jaycar?

3. With the yellow rpm monitor wire for my fans, i would basically just be able to cut this off at both ends of the wires since i won't be using it for the fanbus or to monitor the rpm of the fan, correct? No problems with that?

4. Where would i be able to get some of that heat shrink wrap? Jaycar? looks like a good thing to use after soldering joints, compared to the old hunky electrical tape method...

thanks for any help...

1. I would assume the default or max position would be at 12V
2. No idea on that one
3. Yeah, but you should not cut it completely off, but leave a little bit left, incase you wanna wire up the fan some other way in the future.
4. Jaycar, DSE - Yes
Very useful stuff!

hehe, my dad just got home, we heated up the led a little with a hairdryer and just pulled the holder off, easy

mmmmm, the default position should be 12 but seeing as its got 3ways by default (12/7/off) it should work like that, well, ill soon see when i test it later on with my 120mm fan.

I believe that you can set the lower voltage to any desired level, and then the switch changes between full 12V and the lower voltage.

Yes! i get you guys

but what im saying is

if i didnt touch the yellow screwdriver thing at all

and went to the switch and played between the settings, ie full voltage, reducted voltage, and off. I would get 12v / 7v (by default) / off

correct?

im just saying :P cos i might not be able to play with the yellow thing after i put it in and hook everything up to it. Well, yes i will by pulling out the drive bay

but yeah! :P

i just got one of these the other day from Below-0.

the default for the reduced voltage is meant to be 7v, but thats obviously going to be different if someone has mucked around it.

Set it up, hook it up and plug in the fans. Then adjust the things until the level of sound of the fans is bearable, and then leave it. the lower volume is meant only to be to quiten the case down a little.
