suggestions for sticky's

confirmation on barton unlocking / same method as thoroughbred cpus?

and perhaps more important,

a facts article detailing socket 462's most sought after cpu's (o)r the best cpus for socket 462 (now that production is comming to a end)

eg. mobile bartons (i know this has been done - just relavant to this topic)

eg. let people know about semprons, just a renamed tb b core cpu which is locked.

eg. bartons even tho not in production being a better cpu than the new semprons (having more cache)

eg. an old tb/b core 2100 being a better cpu to own than a sempron 2400 because the 2100 is factory unlocked and cheaper to be had.

i hope this is accurate, i have only learnt this recently in my quest for answers since the sempron was released. im sure there are alot of other that would like to know.

Click here and in * 64-bit section you can find two useful guides.
Look other sections too...
But things change rapidly so much of the stuff there is out of date now.
Anyway you will find something interesting.

Just for general info, a few people seem to have asked about the LanParty board differences:

Just a suggestion, how about replacing Greenberet's HOW TO: Overclocking Athlon64 guide which doesn't exist anymore with eva2000's one here --> http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=327
I found it extremely useful and I'm sure others would too but some probably don't know about it because it isn't on the first page of this sticky

EDIT: spelling

Is anyone going to be doing/found an article regarding OCing X2/AM2 processors?

Heres a few rather brief ones specifically for AM2:

- DriverHeaven's AM2 OC Guide
- Tom's Hardware OC Guide Pt 2

You may also want to google some AM2 user's overclocking reports/adventures, as they can also provide some more information.

Theres not many guides specifically for AM2, because basically, the principle in overclocking them is pretty much the same as previous A64 sockets (939/754) with the main differences/exceptions being only in the memory speed and timings. If you refer to a number of overclocking guides within the FAQ in my signature, you will see that some explain memory timings and how they effect the overclocking and performance of the system (i4memory's one in particular). With the combined knowledge of both the 939/754 & AM2 guides provide and you spending sometime playing around, I am sure in no time you will have a decent overclock on your system
