thats because its not a common question, and with laptops its incredibly rare to use aftermarket hardware (as it voids warranty)

I would have thought they would have known whether or not it was doable or not. Especially if its a company policy to have a whitelist in the bios for approved hardware.

Anyhow, we'll see how it goes when it gets here.

Well i attempted to install the Intel 6200 Wifi and it was a no go. Error 104 unsupported hardware detected.

Great,
You could try talking to them again and let them know the error you are getting and specifically request a list of known working wifi adapters from them. Assuming there wasn't a stupid "warranty void if removed" sticker across the wifi access panel, which would be just daft.
