Default Analysis and Design modelling software

I think this is the right forum for this post..

I'm currently working on a project for uni that requires formal analysis and design modelling techniques to be used *extensively*. I've been using Rational Rose for some of the diagrams, but have found this is mostly object oriented - and since this project requires a structured solution, I'm having a little trouble.

So what I'm after is some recommendations of good modelling software for structured analysis and design. The kinds of diagrams needed (and they don't have to be automatically linked) are:

- Context and Data Flow diagrams
- Entity-Relationship diagrams
- Structure Charts

cheers,
zeuss

Dia is a Free drawing program that supports all those diagram types.

Default I used LBMS

I used to use LBMS but it is a corporate tool and will cost several thousands of dollars. Visio will be great for drawing your design but it doesn't aid you in the design process. Tools like LBMS actually give you the process framework for each Phase, Activity and Task necessary for Project Management, Design and Analysis, R&D, Implementation, Verification and Validation and lastly Maintenance.

LBMS souds perfect - except for the price

I found another one (for windows) named SmartDraw. This program doesn't handle flow between multiple diagrams like Rational Rose does, but it does allow nice, quick diagrams to be produced.

cheers all - thanx for the help.
