Default Q3 2010 Multi Monitor Poll

After reading somones speculation about what is the uptake of multi monitor setups i thought a poll was going to prove interesting.

Personally I am looking for a 3rd monitor as 2 monitors are not enough when you study or work these days. Currently I use 5870 and GTX260+ for physX and I have a 24" plugged up to both cards and a 19" 4:3 (portrait) plugged to both so i have a faux 4 monitor setup.

I tend to switch the inputs on the monitors so i can have more desktop space or keep work/uni seperate from things like general surfing and apps etc..

I am looking at either replacing all my monitors to 3 24" 1920x1200 LCD/LED w/ displayport

Anyway poll away!

Didn't vote, but it was 2x hooked up to an nVidia GPU... before I (recently) got a laptop and split them. Wouldn't mind a third though.

Edit: OT, but just what is the correct capitalisation of nVidia? Their website has "NVIDIA", but didn't it used to be "nVidia"? I prefer that, anyway.

I have always thought nVidia since n used to be italic,

Having "nView" from "nView Desktop Manager" probably enforced that. Anywho, carry on.

All 3 of my screens are the same model as I wanted to minimise the hassle with eyefinity. All 3 in landscape mode as well. It is so much better than just one screen so if you are comfortable with the expense then I'd definitely recommend it.

I think if you grab everyone who is in the eyefinity thread the 3 monitors + ati will explode. I find it interesting that many people use two screens though... Why do you use it like so? I use it like so for productivity but can't afford 3 dell 27" screens

Eyefinity user since December '09

Loving it, I went from single 30" screen and just love the desktop real estate I get now. It makes working alot more efficent.

I've used dual 30" but the Bezel down the middle was a real pain. I'm pretty happy with 3 1920 x 1200 screens, I think the resolution gives me enough to really spread stuff out, I never full screen anything except Photoshop.

I almost pulled the trigger on three U2711s when the special was on. At some point I'm sure I'll upgrade the three higher resolution monitors. I have thought about 2 more U2410s and moving to a Potrait setup but the per monitor width would mean some stuff would spread over two monitors. I've also though about another three U2410s to go on top of the current three but gaming would be a pain with the bezel in the middle and I'm not sure I need that much more real estate. Mind you I could probably make use off it.

There is never enough, i sometimes take 2 monitors from my other setup and add them to my main rig (5 monitors) im hoping ati will pull their finger out and make it so i can run mixed landscape and portrait.

One del U2711 on a HD5870, such a good set up. Monitors are too expensive to really consider more, might get a 21" dell U series to run in portrait but.
