I have an epox 8k3a and id like to run a processor at 166 fsb
What XP cpu steppings are likely to enable to run at this fsb? Is it only AGOIA's that have this fsb ability? Or is it all hit and miss

Just to clarify, ALL Athlon XP's are cable of running up to 166FSB in fact 250 is theoritically acheivable.
The limitation is the overall MHZ not the FSB, assuming the your CPU is multiplier unlocked and other components handle the increased FSB. Eg RAM, Mobo. So to clarify lets assume a CPU max stable MHZ is 1500. It has a default FSB of 133 and a multiplier of 11. If we increase the FSB to 166 and multiplier remains at 11 (1826Mhz)..some would say the FSB is too high, in fact it is the overall MHZ that is too high causint the CPU to fail. So if you really want 166FSB for the performance increase the extra bandwidth provides unlock your chip. The XP1600+ are good overclockers AGOIA being the best of these, the default muliplier is 10.5, so 166 FSB is 1743, which is very acheivable with a good cooler etc. That said, check out the AMD Sticky regarding performance of indivdual steppings. Thank you for clearing that up for me.
It all makes sense now.
