I'm slowly improving my game, I tend to favour team matches over 1v1, seems like a lot less cheese and your partner can plug up your weaknesses.
So I am looking for more people to play/prac with me on a regular basis, I can get people together for 2v2/3v3 or 1v1 prac, possibly against AI. I'm not too keen on adding random people from the wiki, so shoot me a message here or in-game: Meep #654 I play toss, bronze/gold level |

Just need to focus on my Macro, since my Micro is really intense comparatively. Just going to take time. Have two 2v2 teams, two 3v3 teams and I've only played two solo... Game is quite different in 2's from 3's though. You can be super greedy and get away with it a lot more in 3's.

So if you place a pylon, use the field radius as a guide. The field should end about 3-4 blocks away from the closest AI structure. If you want, add me in-game, I'll be more than happy to show you. |

i know where it's meant to be placed, outside structure vision but because their scouting probes see it, it freaks out. if it can see the whole map, well that's a bit cheating why would it send probes into my base at the same time a normal player would? (just for show?) to be fair, shouldn't it have limited information according to the field of vision? being that on a 2v2 map it beelines to your base then? |

I cant believe it, just tried on 2v2 and it sort of worked just slowed them down, then the other protoss player on the other team did it to my team mate , still nearly won the game by myself but they attacked me same time I attacked them and they beat me to it

Going up a ladder is based on wins correct? But it is based on wins against players in the ladder above you or just wins in general.? I've got 10 more wins than losses I think 37-27ish but almost all my wins yesterday were against silver level players, a few gold and one platinum. (w00t just checked 60th gold ranked player in SEA....OK so its not that good but still lol http://sc2ranks.com/char/sea/66542/gRnt)
How the hell am I supposed to go up a ladder when the match making system keeps matching me with lower competition???? ![]() Really enjoying the game though slowly learning to just take map control and win the game. Even scrapstation which I hate is becoming easier as I adapt builds. Currently 5th on gold but I want to be platinum and feel cool! |

Anyway just keep going for it, it took be a couple times to get the pylon placement correct. Quote:
I tried playing on the map which is like BGH from sc1 but it's just way too hard to hold 4 players off normally. I was thinking going DTs or HT might be a good way to do it, but it would seem the time it takes to tech to them is too long. |

Deth vs Pinder:
Game 1: http://www.youtube.com/sephyresc#p/u/4/1s5uXLbjJGc Game 2: http://www.youtube.com/sephyresc#p/u/2/rI36u4aLp38 I found them interesting as Deth is one of Australias top Terrans (just below KJH) and he has switched to Zerg, in a time when there is so much crying about Zerg being weak ![]() Game is against Pinder, for those that don't know is the reigning King of the Hill Australasia champion ( http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=139011 ) and one of the best Protoss players in Aus.

Nice channel dude, will watch those games. You really need to put a link to the next part of the video in the comments though. It's extremely difficult to find the right games/parts just by the vids on the right hand side because the description is too small.

Finally did my placement matches:
1. (W) Steamrolled with battlecruisers... he was still building a factory 2. (W) Reaper harass followed by an easy marauder win 3. (L) Held off an epic proxy cannon, however - huge hole in game, didn't know how to detect cloaked units. He had one cloaked unit which started taking apart my base, so I smashed everything in his base with my units except his expansion. He still won even though my army value was huge compared to his... Not sure why? I had 2 medivacs and probably half dozen marauders 4. (L) Mass Marine cheesed, scouted and walled in but was waiting on a factory for helions 5. (W) 6 Pooled a protoss, he GGd after I destroyed his pylon

My brother and his 2 mates were a bronze level 3v3 team at the top of their league, they kept being paired up against gold level teams, and they won most of them, but still they stayed in Bronze. Finally one day, they did a baneling bust early game instead of the macro game they always do and bam, they get tossed into Gold and are at the top of that league as well. So I think the matchmaking system does not make rapid changes to your league which is probably a good thing since while it may be frustrating waiting to be leveled up, but it's more disheartening being pulled back down. Now they are in Gold, the MM system seems to be doing it's job a lot better as they are usually paired up against high ranking Gold teams and so they will slowly have their win/loss ratio reduced. I have this suspicion that early wins are counted more favourably vs longer matches. If true, then cheesing/rush/allin is the easire way to get your rank up but not as rewarding. It also doesn't improve your gameplay any. |
