To replace your watercooling
It's good, but not as good as a 360 rad

Oh yes, the mounting system is also way better, and like you said better quality control for the heatpipes/base

EDIT: Another thing to note is the two fans on this cooler can drop to 500rpm, and have a max of 1300rpm...
This is good, looks to be quieter than a Noctua at idle but the stock fans will ramp up to around the level of the stock Noctua fan's RPM levels if needed.

EDIT2: Take a look at this chart: http://a.imageshack.us/img208/5941/silverarrowtest.jpg
Very nice, and I am surprised they even have computers in Lithuania (I'm from Litho hehe)

Sorry for triple post, otherwise nobody would see this...
But is anyone considering getting this cooler? I mean, the top end Thermalright products are very popular along with the Noctua and Coolermasters latest coolers but this seems to beat them all but has little interest here

I don't think this is proving to be a popular item.

Just like all Thermalright's other coolers, I highly doubt that statement will remain true in a few months.

The arrow has always been an excellent cooler, its just never caught on with the fanboi status like the Ven X, D14, true 120 etc did.

What are you going on about? the Arrow spanks both of those coolers six ways from sunday, and is only marginally heavier.

And the True is NOT a small HSF.

Well the Arrow is branded under the Cogage name for a start so that is probably one reason that is hasn't caught on. If it was under the Thermalright name it might be more popular now.

The Silver Arrow is under Thermalright's name so that should automatically give it more exposure.

The other thing is that Thermalright need to update their site with info like Noctua has for the NH-D14. Noctua has lots of compatibilty info about what Motherboards and RAM you can use the cooler. Thermalright and Cogage have nothing when I last looked so I just dismissed the cooler straight away. I really like the RAM compatibilty list Noctua have as that makes a difference to help you decide if you want to buy it or not.

The compatibility should be pretty much the same with the Silver Arrow as with the Noctua. It is slightly smaller so should fit even better TBH.
It's actually not a lot heavier than my Hyper N620 which is far smaller and nowhere near as good.

Yeah, but what RAM can you fit under it? how far out does it come? How many RAM slots does it block with a fan. Can you answer me those questions.

Saying it's almost the same doesn't mean anything.

If you don't use a 3rd fan, it doesn't block any ram slots at all, that was with X58 anyways.

I'd want to use a fan on the outside of the tower though, like a normal tower cooler. One on each tower. I probably wouldn't use a fan in the middle. What was your fan configuration?

What Motherboard did you use it on?

I have a Prolimatech Megahalems and I used that with no problem on my DFI T3EH8, but I got a Gigabyte UD7 a few weeks ago and the Megahalems with a fan blocks out both RAM slots. I thought all X58 Motherboards had the same distance between RAM slots until I tried installing the Meghalems on the UD7.

Same board i have now, a UD3R, i used 3 nexus whites on mine, and it cleared my ripjaws without issue, extremely high ram coolers though wouldnt fit with the 3rd fan. Why you would run it without a fan in the middle is beyond me.

Actually I got my configuration wrong. I would run it like a TRUE with the fans blowing towards the back of the case. The first fan would be on the outside of the cooler and the second fan in the middle. so both fans would be pushing air towards the back of the Case.

All my RAM is with tall heatspreaders so I'd have to swap it over, which I don't think is worth the hassle.

How far does the cooler hang over the RAM slots with a fan? How many slots does it cover? Can you install and remove RAM with the cooler installed?
