Default MC Win7 Sleep Resume issue

My Win7 MCE HTPC has always had issues with resuming s3 sleep.

I did a complete format and installed an SSD as the OS drive (FAST ) but sometimes when resuming to sleep the screen stays black but sound works i.e. you can hear the TV channel but no picture. Put back to sleep and wake again and it works fine.

Anyone know how to fix this issue? Or what it is? I downloaded the latest video card driver as part of install and was still doing the same as before.

Cheers

Correct - what video card / TV combo are you running?

I have a problem where my PC can boot up before my TV is on, so when using HDMI the video card misses the EDID data and doesn't recognise it properly. There's an app called HDMION that can reset the display after boot.

And you can also get the Media center Standby Tool which can address a whole bunch of standby related issues.

I've also had a bunch of issues with ATi video cards and HDMI audio, which i'm still working on.

Fun times

I assume you're using the catalyst drivers then?

I find that on resume, the "auto-detect" stuffs up 50% of the time, and gives me a black screen or heaps of underscan. I get around this by disabling the ATi event responder process (ati2evxx.exe off the top of my head), so it will stop changing the video settings if you turn your TV on and off, or if it starts up in a different order etc.

Worth a shot anyways.

I'll have a look at this. When i think about it, i didnt have much trouble under vista but then i think i went to ATI from NVIDEA at the same time.

Thx
