Default Corona Australis

This is Corona Australis, a constellation which floats over head around 9pm this time of year. Basically it's a big pile of space dust but to give you some idea of the size, I've added a Field of View sample from ccdcalc, of this scope pointed at the moon. As it's a lot further away than the moon, you can see that it is a huge pile of dust

Shot with a cooled 8Mp camera through a Takahashi FS60CB scope. 3hours total exposure and shot from a dark site.

You'd need one hell of a dustbuster to clean that up

Interesting photo

Get the extension cords out. You'll need 130 to 500 light years worth

Great pictures. Now I was expecting to see an old Toyota of no great merit so no wonder it looked good.

the 2 new stars created in the middle will eventually suck most of the dust into them and the stars will become a bigger mass in billions of years....
