Holy moly, I'm ranked 272 for my dry Albert Park time
![]() Come get me Beast ![]() Why do I find it easier to turn corners when I use a Wet setup (understeer) instead of a Dry setup (oversteer)? Am I going crazy?

Places like Bahrain and Malaysia Spain was really hard when set to legendary. Qualified 5th, but when it came to the race they were lapping 4 secs faster than what they were in qualifying, it didn't make any sense. the pit crew holding me in the pit box for 12 secs cost me a top 5 position. I'm playing Monaco at the moment (not right now), but I did a few practice laps, my first sectors are the fastest, but sector 2 is a little bit off as is the last sector, end up about 5 or 6 in the practice session, will try qualifying tonight. But as it's set my settings are: Legendary A.I. Manual Pit entry Manual Speed Limiter Auto gearbox (only because playstation control is stupidly cramped) traction on medium no break assist no abs Usually use Full dry setup or second wet setup (closer to adaptive) for Monaco and street circuits. Seems to work well. I don't really enjoy the penalty system as you pass someone and they spin you around and they don't get a hint of a penalty or they just ram you in the race (speaking of AI here) and they just keep going around with no penalties even though you are innocent. What really gets to me is that you are using defensive moves to keep people and they hit you, but you get a warning on your screen for causing a collision when they clearly hit you. Damn penalty system! /rant

1:24.250 8/10ths faster than your lap. Game on ![]() I can probably get into the 23's with a few more goes. Losing a bit too much in sector 1 and 3.

Is there a way to save half way through a race?

A nice long review by the Simraceway guys for those who are undecided about this game.
I pretty much agree with most of what they say here, the only thing I really disagree with it that it gets framey sometimes. Digital Foundry did some tests and the PS3 and Xbox versions are pretty much pegged at 30fps the whole time. Only in replays does it dip to the low 20s. Although 30fps might not seem that high, it's consistent so the game still feel smooth and most importantly there is no change frame rate to mess with your driving rhythm. No you can't. You can save between sessions if you're going Practice or Qualifying, but you can't save during a race. You can pause it however, which I have had to use occasionally with the 100% races

Perhaps, but I think the game AI might be better than hers. In fact I'm sure of it.

Just bought it in the for sale forums for $60 delivered and it should arrive Monday.
Feverishly looking for a wheel as I dont want to bother with the controller at all. Would love a G27 but can really only afford a Driving Force GT. Is anyone here using one - what do you think? On a side note: Cmon Webber - Suzuka is yours for the taking!! |

Suzuka is a prick. The First corner and the 'S' are so damn hard to get right. Apart from that, it's an awesome track

Game arrived in the mail yesterday so I gave it a run with the controller till I can find a DFGT somewhere in Aus at a non ebay inflated price.
First impressions are great! - Seeing I just wanted to give it a crack with the controller I only set the difficulty to medium but it was obvious that this isnt difficult enough on that setting after getting pole at Bahrain in a Lotus. Only set race distance at half though and it was obvious even on that setting that the game does require good concentration as I was spinning the car a bit and only finished 4th in the end. - Oh and I had to restart the race a few times after crashing into people left right and centre (was good fun though!) Have to say though, as a huge F1 fan I absolutely love this game. Cant wait to pick up a wheel and really challenge myself properly on the serious difficulty settings. Might try out some online races till I can get my wheel and start a proper career. |
