Default Advice on system spec

Ive got an old AMD (One of the ones before everyone went to duel cores) running 2gig or ram IIRC, and a 2600XT GFX card.

Would that be fine? im looking at using the PC as a media center, then my GF suggested she'd like to play old school games (Saving having to get out the SNES/N64 or the mega drive)

Im not 100% sure if i used this PC to run emu's on it back in the day.

Ive got a little cash, so if there are any parts i need let me know.

Thank you.

Pistols or swords?

2GHz is fine for anything around the N64/Playstation era (not Saturn) and older. I've emulated said systems on far less in the past (I remember playing megadrive emulators on a Pentium 200).

You can use whatever you like depending on the screen you're plugging into. If it's an old CRT style TV then you'd best use S-Video, anything modern you can use DVI, HDMI, whatever
