Its a pump top and you can use barbs or compression fitting instead of the standard fitting on the pump
Gives your pump better flow rate...

Yuppers correct

If you want to start simple and see if water cooling is for you this would be a nice starter kit..

IF you make up you own kit like from GAMMODS you need to buy your own barbs

2 for rad
2 for cpu
2for res

The swiftech kits comes with them

Yea but isent it cheaper to build a custom loop (in terms of quality and performance) then to buy a kit

If your skipping the pump top the tubing wont work. The pump comes with 3/8 barbs and you have 1/2 tubing. Do yourself a favour and get the top with 2 extra 1/2 barbs. Also you might want to get 7/16 tubing with the 1/2 barbs so you dont have to use hose clamps plus it will never come off the barbs.

Spend the Xtra few dollars and grab the pump top or upgrade pump to the Laind D5 or Swiftech MCP655

If you get the D5 or MCP655 you can use the 1/2 3/4 1/8 Tubing on it
