Default Tracking a mobile number's location via online maps??

I just need to know if there is a way I can track someones rough location via their mobile phone number, through any program or map system online which will allow me to do this?

Please no trolling, just serious answers as we have a pretty serious situation with a missing family member at the moment, and the cops are doing jack shit about it...

Any help is much appreciated.

Only the cops can get that out of them..

How long they been missing,

Has to be 24 hours for a missing person. or they have evidence

Since Saturday morning, We left some details and the smart ass youngster who talked to us and said, just to sms and keep ringing. Just unbelievable. he wouldn't even call a senior over to talk to us after we insisted.

If I can get some info from the carrier, which I am currently on hold and waiting for, I'm going to go down to the station again, to talk to a different cop.

I'm pretty sure the carriers can't and won't tell you anything. They will only provide that sort of information to the police.

Carrier gave me no info, you guys where right.

I talked to senior cop with some brains, who used the carrier info to find the last location an sms was sent.
I knew this suburb well as this family member frequents a house here (Girlfriend) We Found him. Thank God.

Speaking of God, he will be the only one who can save him from my old man's rage.

Thanks for the help gents.

Not so helpful now but there is a feature in Android, not sure about other smart phone platforms, called Latitude which I think lets your friends see where you are on google maps. So if the person in question is prone to wandering off but would keep their phone on you could consider using that. Never used it myself so can't comment on how it works.

I tried something like that, and it zoomed into the location only to show a bed and a man and a woman fucking on it. Gotta love the net.

No, my brother took off with my old mans car, no calls, no smses, nothing. No sign of life or response to anything. Nothing like this has happened before, we thought he was dead.

+1

Not saying the OP didn't properly try looking, but wouldn't you try places the person frequents/friends houses/girlfriends houses as a first thing?
