Default NWN problem.

my bro and i have both brought NWN and we could play on the same server at the same time. but for some reason we cant now?. We have gotten some other ppl to try the same thing on their comps. and they can have both ppl on at the same time.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? Or know how to fix it. i dont know if its the actual game, or something with our comps.

Thanks

Which versions you running and did this
'Just' happen.
Both of you should be able to play on the same server. One person had a problem where one could connect, but as soon as the other tried to it'd drop the first connection..... Don't know what the resolution was.
A server will also reject you if you both have the same key, make sure one of you hasn't also logged into the other guys computer.
Check the file that contains the key in the NWN folder as well, if they are both the same just put the other key in.

If none of that helps more info please

we are using a router soit assigns our i.p. We both have different cd-keys. When i try and connect to the server while my bro is in the server, all it will do is "connecting to server" then it says timeout. We are using the current version 1.23.

Thanks

Haven't hit 1.23 yet, next time we play no doubt.
Basically I server in game for me and 3 others.
Once had a connection problem but got the other to restart and it was all fine.
Usually if its a key problem the app will tell you, so most likely it isn't that.
Timing out could either be connection or firewall going on.

If your connecting to a server on the net stop doing that for the moment and see if you can run an ingame server and get your brother to connect to that.
If that is what is failing then my first guess would be firewall.

If your connecting to the list that appears when selecting internet games, not sure, I believe it'd tell you if the server was full.

Another thing to look out for is if the router has an ip then it assigns IP's to everyone else, not sure how all that works though so only going to leave you with that sliver of doubt.

Have you done a search on the tech forum on the NWN site. And there are some good helpers on there as well

Post and search there now, thats your best place for an answer.
If it was working then look for something that has been installed, and also shut down all your other programs.
Also, check one of the computers has the network cable plugged in
Sorry, had to say it
