Default Low Boy

Hi there i have scored myself a low boy arcade machine. You wont believe where but at the dump!!!
poor thing was about to be turned into trash. anyways after some negoitiating i got it. sweet.
Anyways i have got myself a SFF IBM desktop which has MAME loaded on it with a heap of roms to put in it with a dell p1130 21inch crt monitor to try and hang in there somehow.
Pretty keen to find out some hints and advice and any other advice you guys may have for me.
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
cheers

Does it include an arcade monitor already? Or has that been removed?

If not, my only advice is cram the largest monitor you can in there. Big cabinets with little monitors look quite ugly.

There's a few blokes on this forum who've built/restored a few cabinets each now. Ask specifics and I'm sure you'll get plenty of detailed answers.

Advice: dont use a crt monitor. Get a tube out of an old TV, get a jomac chassis and get an ArcadeVGA graphics card.

You don't need an ArcadeVGA. It's certainly easier (for Windows users), but tools like Soft15KHz (or custom modelines in Xorg, which is how I do it in Linux) allow you the same freedom without the cost of the ArcadeVGA unit.

Good stuff. Should be a fun project.

I'm in Brisbane, so if you need a hand with anything, just yell.
