Default Shark Cartilage Chews

Mum found these dog snacks that are apparently made from shark cartilage at a local market. I don't know if they are a common pet food, but I've never seen them before, and the family dog goes mental for them, which is interesting because she is a very fussy dog and doesn't normally get all that excited by food. Probably since they absolutely stink.

I was wondering if it would be something you could make yourself, maybe not from sharks, but from other fish? I really have no idea so feel free to laugh and tell me I'm dreaming.

Anyone ever tried this, or made a similar type of pet food?

Nope, but they sound really interesting, can't say I've ever seen them around....but will keep an eye out now.

The only thing that would concern me, would be how they get the cartilage.

If the sharks are being used for other things, then fine (ie - shark meat for Fish and Chips) or being caught for the purpose alone, like the asians do for Shark Fin soup (which is horrifically cruel)
