Hi, i recently purchased a SAS controller here and after installing it in my system it will cause the system to hang displaying a message "No physical memory is available at the location"

The systems mainboard is a Striker 2 Formula running 4GB's of ram, the OS is Vista 64Bit SP2, i tried it in Server 2008 R2 and the same problem.

The boot drives are not on the raid controller, they are the onboard ones on the MB

Taped over pins 5+6 on the upside of the board, still doesnt work.

Should i flash the firmware to LSI firmware?

    i'd try disable 'controller bios'
then all config should be done in OS through the drivers

Does not work. Booted it up in a IBM X3550 and it works fine, the seller assured it would work in non IBM systems :(

Dammnit i am sick of LSI!!!!

Try swapping PCI-E slots with the videocards, or pull a videocard out as well.

    'lsi's trash'

yet you're attempting using a raid card designed and built for a specific server?

The card i "supposed" to work in non IBM servers

I'm not going to even bother going into detail explaining why i hate LSI, it mainly revolves around thier shitty support and dodgy chips.

Another thing, i can't get the card to work in the IBM system, upon installing drivers it gives a code 10 error (device cannot start)

What i don't get is why it's not working even when tape modded over the SMBus pins

Update to latest BIOS for motherboard and reset cmos to default.

Then remove all devices you don't need (cd/dvd rom, soundcard, all but 1 dimm etc) so that you're left with a kb, video, raid and boot hdd

I had similar issues with another asus mobo but with a highpoint raid card - Cannot remember exactly how I got it all working in the end but the above steps did help.
